LAN Direct Connection

This configuration is the most basic PC-to-instrument connection via local area network (LAN).

To set up this type of system:

1. Connect and configure the instrument, as described in the instrument's user's manual.
   
   
2. Run Connection Expert.
   

In many cases, you will see the new instrument in Connection Expert's list of instruments, and you are now ready to use and program it.

If the instrument does not appear in the list of instruments (for example, if it is an older model):

1. In Connection Expert's Instruments view, click Rescan. The instrument may appear in the list. If not, proceed with the following steps.
   
   
2. Select Manual Configuration, select Add New Instruments/Interfaces, then select LAN Instrument from the list of instruments and interfaces that can be added.
   
   
3. Fill in the instrument's information, test the connection, and click Accept. You are now ready to use and program your LAN instrument.
